All the benefits of regular training are too numerous to list. It improves your strength, stamina, and endurance. It makes you look fit for the cover of the magazine. You build up self-confidence and become more motivated. In short, training can have a positive impact on every aspect of your life. However, to reap all these benefits, it’s important to work out correctly. That is why Fitness Trainer Dubai is here. To guide you and help you avoid common fitness training mistakes that can halt your progress.

Be mindful of your health

It’s no secret that the vast majority of people start training to improve their looks. This is understandable. After all, everybody wants to look good. We want to be fit, we want endurance. We want those abs! Still, what people realize quite late, or not at all, is that looks are just a bonus. A welcome one, for sure. But still, it’s more of a side effect.

Keep training, despite the pandemic. It’s an excellent way to boost your health.

The main focus of exercising is to preserve and improve our health. This is essential now, more than ever, with coronavirus raging across the globe. It’s important to be mindful of safeguards to avoid the risk of contagion and spread. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to avoid the gym, or forfeit working out altogether. There are still viable options to exercise during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The best way to do this is to work out at home, with a personal trainer, or via online coaching. Under these circumstances, the latter option may prove ideal. You will minimize the risk of exposure and stay fit. And when the crisis passes, you’ll be ready to jump right back into the loop.

Fitness training mistakes are common – but you can avoid them

Exercising regularly is a great habit to develop. It will keep you in top shape, and help you build up a better image of yourself. However, a good habit can stray from the right path. When that happens, and you start making mistakes, you will not only stall your progress. You will run a great risk of injury. These injuries are mostly minor, which is good. But there’s always the possibility to make a critical mistake, which is bad. These can leave you out of commission for weeks or months on end. Or worse, leave lasting negative effects.

Now that we’ve scared the hell out of you, you can relax. Although fitness training mistakes are common, they are also easily preventable. Here are some of them:

1. Pushing yourself too hard

The holiday season is upon us. And we all know what that means: good food and loads of it. After it passes, you’ll surely want to burn those calories and fat you’ll (inevitably) accumulate. But don’t try to do it all at once. It can only lead to overexertion, fatigue, and injury. The same goes if you’re just starting to train, or you’re coming back after a long break. So, take it slow and easy. It’s not a race, it’s a marathon.

2. Avoiding warm-up or cooldown

This is one of the most common mistakes. It’s also one that can leave you most prone to injuries. A warm-up routine increases your heart rate and prepares your body for the punishment you’re about to unleash on it. (That wasn’t overly dramatic, at all.) In a way, it switches you from “stand-by” to “go-hard” mode. Similarly, cooldown exercises can help you relax and slip back into normal mode. Therefore, take your time to do some pre and post-workout stretches. You will improve your results and feel better after the training.

3. Not giving your body enough time to recover

Imagine working 16 hours a day, then doing household chores for the remaining 6. Unless you’re a literal superhuman, your body will shut down after a few days. Well, your muscles follow the same logic. If you overwork them and don’t give them time to recover, they will refuse to cooperate. “All work, no play” will quickly lead to overexertion and injury. Avoid these by getting enough rest and a good night’s sleep in between training sessions.

A good night’s sleep is essential for your well-being and for the success of your training.

4. Going in without a goal/plan

A good plan is the basis of success. However, to achieve results, you have to set clearly defined fitness goals. The most important thing here is to be specific. For instance: “I want to be fit” is not a goal. It’s a wish. On the other hand “I want to lose 5kg in a month” is a clearly defined goal. It gives you a clear objective, and a timeframe to fulfill it.

5. Working out incorrectly

This has to be the biggest mistake on our list, by far. Exercising regularly is an amazing way to keep your body in top shape. But training in itself means next to nothing if you do it incorrectly. It is only detrimental to your overall progress. But, more importantly, it can lead to injuries. The best way to remedy this is to have someone experienced and knowledgeable show you the ropes. With a personal trainer, you will get better results – and much faster.

6. Not mixing it up

Doing the same routine over and over is counterproductive. It won’t be long before you get bored and demoralized. When that happens, you will start finding the reasons to slack off or avoid training altogether. From there on out, your results will only decline. You can avoid this mistake if you find new routines or mix up the old ones. Keep it fresh to keep yourself motivated.

7. Not having a cheat day

This might seem like a joke, but it really isn’t. You train hard, pay attention to nutrition, and avoid things that you really want or love to eat. After a while, you might find yourself screaming “I want PIZZZZAAAAAAA!!!”

It is ok to indulge yourself every once in a while. You deserve it!

So… Go get one. But don’t get one every day. Choose one day on a biweekly (or triweekly) basis, where you’ll let your inner hedonist revel in the well-deserved break. Just remember, you’ll have to burn all of that out too. But if it will keep your spirit up – it’s totally worth it!

Don’t let the possibility of mistake keep you down

The sheer amount and scope of fitness training mistakes can intimidate you. Even so, it shouldn’t deter you from exercising. When you put it on the scale, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. Especially in the long run. Clear out the negative thoughts from your mind, find a good trainer, and it won’t be long before you start looking and feeling like a better version of yourself.
